CSI FOR PATROL

This 32 hour course is designed for patrol level officers with beginner to intermediate experience. During this course, students gain experience with lectures and practical exercises that teach the skills needed to collect evidence most commonly encountered during patrol. Topics include latent print processing & collection, DNA collection, footwear/tire track and photography. Students are also given an overview of crime lab capabilities for their specific area.

Basic Crime Scene Investigation

This 40 hour course is designed for forensic professionals & law enforcement officers with beginner to intermediate experience. Students can expect to work through lectures & practical exercises that teach skills in identifying, documenting, preserving & collecting the most common types of physical evidence. Topics include scene management, evidence search, measurement & diagramming, proper documentation, photography and evidence collection.

Advanced Crime Scene Investigation

This 40 hour course is designed for forensic professionals and law enforcement officers with intermediate to expert experience. During lecture and practical exercises, students will learn to identify, document, preserve and collect more complex and challenging types of evidence. Topics include bloodstain pattern documentation, chemical enhancements, trajectory documentation, advanced photography, and more.

Forensic Entomology at the Crime Scene

This 16 hour course is designed to familiarize crime scene investigators, death investigators and detectives with the skills needed to identify and collect insects and insect related evidence during death investigations. Students will work through numerous practical exercises involving everything from identifying insects to collection and submission for entomological exam.

This 24 hour seminar style course will offer beginner to advanced police personnel a fresh approach to solving crime. Investigators and detectives will increase their understanding of proper crime scene methodology and apply it to scene visits, canvasing, interviews & interrogations, report writing and testimony.
