Course overview

This 3-day seminar style course will offer beginner to advanced police personnel a fresh approach to solving crime. Investigators and detectives will increase their understanding of proper crime scene methodology and apply it to scene visits, canvasing, interviews & interrogations, report writing and testimony. Forza Forensics is committed to working with your organization's personnel to make them better equipped to handle any investigative situation.

Day One.

Students can expect to spend the first day of lecture being presented with the principles of crime scene investigation, evidence recognition and autopsy. Multiple case examples will help familiarize students with the what it takes to process a crime scene thoroughly and objectively.

  • Registration & introductions

  • Basic crime scene theory

  • Better evidence recognition

  • Information from the autopsy

Day Two.

Day two presents the students with more advanced types of evidence commonly found at the scenes of violent crimes. Multiple case examples and demonstrations help students recognize the importance of these evidence types.

  • Bloodstain pattern recognition

  • Prelim analysis of bloodstains

  • Bloodstain demonstration

  • Basic shooting reconstruction

Day Three.

In day three students begin to apply new skills to help them analyze and evaluate major crime scene.

  • Scene analysis & event sequencing

  • Homicide, suicide or staged scene?

  • Staged vs actual suicide case review

  • Better report writing through forensics

  • Student case review
